Buck is the founder and Director of operations with Drift Compatible Productions, an independent, grass-roots production concept under the Broken Drift umbrella, focusing on experimental concepts and locally-sourced content. Originally from Lima, OH, Buck Newman is an artist, comedian and musician. Buck has a background in live event and audio/visual production, working on projects ranging from broadcast television (NBC’s Comedy Roast of Shane Doan) to festivals (Big Pine Comedy Festival, San Diego Comedy Festival, All Things Comedy Comedy Festival, NoHo Comedy Festival, Bird City Comedy Festival) and podcasting (The Crack House Podcast, Loose Screw).
As a performer, Buck has appeared in the Big Pine Comedy Festival, Cleveland Comedy Festival & Bird City Comedy Festival, as well as opening for Leonard Ouzts, Josh Adams, Brent Terhune and Jay Hollingsworth. He has written and performed sketch comedy as a cast member for First Friday Night Live (Phoenix) and co-created the fantasy-RPG improv show Comedy&D, regularly featured by Phoenix New Times as one of the best “Nerdy Things to Do” in the valley and one of the best-rated events at Phoenix Fan Fusion.
Back home in Ohio, Buck is a co-creator of the hit comedy show Beans on Parade and is currently working with childhood-friend and fellow comedian, Kyle Haunhorst, to launch the Rubber City Comedy Festival in Akron, OH.
